The Midnight Blog: Another night, perhaps.

Please.

If you’ll allow me the quiet dignity.

Of a night shut in and out.

Tumbling between the two spaces.

Arms stretched out wide.

Twirling against the summer night air.

The smile of gentle ease.

Of dreams yet to be lived in.

The day long passed.

But my day is just beginning.

Nicknamed 'Midnight Plateau'. A girl in a red shirt and blue jeans trying to 'reach' the stars while standing on a plateau. At night.

To be free.

Like the night breeze.

Exceptional.

Breathtaking.

Curiosity.

In its’ most purest form.

Father Sun had guided my creativity.

In the daytime.

But the night.

Gives me something the day cannot.

Evening whisked me off.

Into the unknown shadows.

Of the darkened corners.

Where people would sooner turn towards.

The safety of the porch light.

I would dance under the moonlight.

Drinking in the stars.

And the tree’s shallow breaths.

Between the whispers of lightning bugs.

And the fae’s silky calls.

And the moon.

Heard my every word.

Mother Moon ushered in.

My dreams of flight.

And gave them feathered wings of light.

So tonight.

I am busy.

Excuse me, please.

The night will not last.

I have a previous engagement.

Oh my gosh I've been listening to 'wishing you were somehow here again' from Phantom of the Opera 2004 movie for like an hour when I wrote this. And before that, as it kept playing in my head over and over again. I watched part of The Phantom of the Opera from the 90s. I don't regret it, but oh my. So, as you can see here, I'm starting to put my poetry on the site. I'll try to see how to make that a category in it of itself.

To be more identifiable. I enjoyed writing this. It brought good memories of long summer nights. With no one to talk to except the night. No one's ever understood me more than Nyx (Greek personification of night) and Erebus (Greek personification of shadow).

To all my night owls, tonight, I'll see you soon.
